Portuguese side Benfica have officially join the race to sign Nigeria striker, Sadiq Umar, Nigeriasoccernet can report.
As we gathered from BSNSports, the Portuguese side after letting their talisman Darwin Nunez join Liverpool have now switched gears towards the direction of the Almeria forward.
Uruguayan striker, Nunez completed his €75m transfer to Liverpool on Tuesday. Incidentally Nunez was signed by Benfica from Almeria two years ago with the later replacing him with Sadiq Umar who has equally delivered on the job for them.
Sadiq last season scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists to help the Rojiblancos secure promotion to LaLiga.
LaLiga clubs, Valencia and Sevilla are also interested in the striker.
The 25-year-old recently expressed his desire to play in the Spanish top flight, but Almeria are open to letting him leave for a reasonable fee.
