Tottenham have reportedly been monitoring the progress of 17-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton"?.

"?The Mail have reported that no fewer than 11 Premier League clubs sent scouts out to watch the young forward in his side's 4-1 defeat to Stoke in the FA Youth Cup earlier this week.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and both Manchester sides were all said to be at attendance at the Bet365 stadium to watch the young star.

"?"?It is understood that Liverpool and Manchester United are also ready to make an offer for the academy product, after the forward scored 15 goals in his 20 appearances for the under-23s this season.

However it was one particular performance against QPR that got the youngster noticed. In a 5-0 win for Forest, Brereton scored four of the goals in the game.

Rumours are that the 17-year-old is close to gaining a call up into the first team squad and that Forest are keen to hold on to their bright product. If Brereton does get hold of the news Tottenham are interested though he might be persuaded to join Mauricio Pochettino and his 'give youth a chance' mentality.

Pochettino has a great record of bringing youth players through the ranks at all the clubs he has worked at. Talents such as Dele Alli, James Ward-Prowse and most recently Harry Winks have all benefited from the manager's tactics and policies regarding youngsters.

With plenty of clubs interested in young Brereton, Forest may have a problem holding onto the forward but they will be hoping the offer of potential first team football can get the youngster to stay with them.
