Tottenham want to bring academy graduate Troy Parrott back to north London from Real Betis, according to Estadio Deportivo.
However, Real Betis are reportedly not concerned about the possibility of the Republic of Ireland forward leaving, because his contract contains a €100m release clause.
Parrott’s current deal with the Spanish club runs until 2031, giving Real Betis significant protection should Tottenham or another club attempt to sign him.
The 23-year-old joined Real Betis last summer for €16m. Since moving to Seville, he has made seven appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
The forward came through Tottenham’s academy before leaving the club. He has since continued his career in Spain, where his performances have now attracted interest from his former side.
Despite Tottenham’s reported desire to re-sign Parrott, the €100m clause represents a substantial barrier to any potential transfer. Real Betis are therefore understood to be under no immediate pressure to consider an offer for a player who remains under contract for the next several years.
