Mauricio Pochettino says if Tottenham are to win trophies, they need players focused on the team's goals and not individual targets.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino said the club are likely to seek another date game against Manchester City because playing a home game at a third stadium this season would be too much.
Spurs are scheduled to host City at their new stadium on Oct. 28, but that game is in danger of being affected by construction overruns that have already seen the club move games against Liverpool on Sept. 15 and Cardiff City on Oct. 6 to Wembley Stadium.
Moving the game against City to Wembley is not possible because the venue will be hosting an NFL game that day. Twickenham Stadium in London and Stadium MK in Milton Keynes have both been presented as potential alternatives, as has playing the game at City's Etihad Stadium, but Pochettino does not want Tottenham to have yet another temporary home.
"If it's impossible in our new stadium, we need to find a way to play at Wembley," Pochettino said at a news conference on Thursday. "Three stadiums in one season would be too much. ... To find another date will be difficult. I'm always positive."
