Reece James was the victim of a burglary last Tuesday. When the 21-year-old defender took on Zenit St. Petersburg (1-0) in the Champions League with Chelsea, four people broke into his house. James shares images of the break-in on Instagram in the hope that the 'cowardly robbers' will be identified.

Security footage shows that the burglars struck at James' home around 8:30 p.m. (local time). The Chelsea defender writes that the burglars have managed to steal a heavy safe with personal items. In the safe was a medal for winning the Champions League, the European Super Cup and second place at the European Championship.

"These medals I won while representing Chelsea or England can never be taken from me, whether or not I have the physical medals to prove it. Nevertheless, I appeal to the Chelsea and England fans to help me identify and address these low life individuals. They will never be able to rest because the burden of proof is mounting.'

“The police, my advisers, Chelsea and many others are behind me because we have clear clues as to who the perpetrators are. The net around them closes. Luckily no one was there at the time of the break-in, but I just want to let you know that I'm fine and I'm safe. I appreciate having this platform to tell you about this and hope that together we will be able to catch these people and let justice prevail.”
