Medeama coach Tom Strand says he is privileged to lead his team into next season’s CAF Confederation Cup following the side’s success in the MTN FA Cup.
The Swede led the Yellow and Mauves to their second triumph in the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over then defending champions Asante Kotoko in the finals.
The FA Cup success returns Medeama to the CAF Confederation Cup, a competition they participated in for the first time when they won the FA Cup in 2011.
And Strand admits he feels honoured to be leading a side to represent Ghana in Africa.
“I am very privileged to be leading Medeama to represent Ghana in Africa,” he said.
“I want to thank Medeama for giving me the opportunity to lead this team and I hope we go on to do well.”
Strand was rewarded for his impressive exploits with Medeama by being named the Coach of the Year at the MTN FA Cup awards ceremony over the weekend.
