Out of winning both latest Premier League title, as a key player for Chelsea, and Euro 2020 one, as a regular starter for Italy, with recent European Supercup on top of all that, 29-year old deep-lying midfielder Jorginho has been awarded 2021 UEFA Player of the Year. To this end, his agent, Joao Santos, interviewed by TMW Italy, stated:
"That's a goal Jorginho has been working and sweating for all his career through. He strongly believed he could, and he fulfilled every football player worldwide's dream. Any footballer around the world dreams of hearing the Champions League tune on the pitch, and to be eventually able to lift that trophy. Such an award, being acknowledged as the best player out of all the European competitions is amazing. His future? He can extend for Chelsea. He's still on a 2-year deal with Blues, and, as a club policy, Chelsea renew contracts when there's just one year left before the deadline. We'll set what happens".
