Ghana Premier League title sponsor First Capital Plus Bank will officially launch the 2014/2015 on Wednesday, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

The ceremony will take place at the Ghana Football Association headquarters in Accra ahead of this weekend’s start.

The new season is four months behind schedule after a court case between relegated King Faisal and the Ghana FA delayed the start of the campaign which was scheduled for 21 September, 2014.

But after the court quashed King Faisal’s injunction case, it paved way for the Ghana FA to hold Congress and get the new season in session.

The Premier League Board, clubs and the sponsor have agreed to play the league to make up for the lost time although the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations also kick-starts next weekend.

Two matches will be played on Saturday, 17 January with Hearts of Oak hosting West Africa Football Academy in Kpando due to a home match ban.

Also, promoted BA United entertain Bechem United at the Sunyani Coronation Park in a regional derby which will be telecast live on SuperSport.

The remaining six matches will be played on Sunday, 18 with the top-liner being defending champions Asante Kotoko’s visit to Aduana Stars in a repeat of last season’s fixture.

Below are the fixtures for Week 1 of the 2014/2015 Ghana Premier League.

Kpando: Heart of Lions V New Edubiase

Dormaa: Aduana V Asante Kotoko

Sekondi: Hasaacas V Liberty Professionals

Sunyani: B. A. United V Bechem (Saturday)

Tema: Inter Allies V Medeama

Wa: All Stars V Chelsea
