THIAGO MOTTA: "I'M GOING HOME HAPPY WITH WHAT I'VE SEEN"

Good performance of the Aquile in Cagliari, with a final 2-2 despite a squad not yet complete and with only one match behind during the summer.
These are the feelings of coach Thiago Motta

"I think the boys were incisive, they played well in a difficult game. At 2-0, it seemed that everything was done, but we know that soccer is unpredictable. I think in the end the result is fair for both.

I saw a team that has courage. I congratulate the boys because from the beginning to the end they tried to win, despite the difficulties we have at this moment they were concentrated and tried to reach the goal.

Bastoni did very well as did the whole team. He had already played as a midfielder and today he showed his flexibility also with a nice goal. I believe that at this level, adaptation is very important, for the team but also for the individual. Today Simone has shown that he can play both on the left side and in midfield, it is an extra-strength that we can have. I am happy with his dedication and his play, and the same goes for the whole team.

I think Colley has made himself helpful to his teammates right from the start, he has entered well into the group. He can add speed to the attack and he can play between the lines. He has done all this very well, but I am also happy with his defensive performance, in which he has helped his teammates.

The group must be the base, we all have to fight together to reach the goals we have clear in our minds. The team is there and we know what we want to do. I'll always expect something more, I'm very demanding with myself and I'll be demanding with them too. Meanwhile, I congratulate my team for their courage, intensity, and mentality. It was not an easy match, today I'm happy. From tomorrow it will be a different story”.
