Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum says the main objective of his team in the AWCON 2022 tournament is to qualify for the Women's World Cup in 2023.

The Super falcons will be looking to extend their amazing record of nine AWCON titles to ten in Morocco but the American, Randy Waldrum believes gaining qualification to the World Cup should be the main target of the team.

“What comes to mind is thinking ahead of the importance to qualify,” Waldrum said on Brila.

“The World Cup qualification has always been the goal, as much as we want to win AFCON Championship, the most important thing right now is qualifying.

“And in the other thing that a coach always concern with is preparation and getting things done the right way. I think we’ve prepared well and overall I’m pleased with the past year and the preparation that we’ve had.“

The AWCON tournament starts on the July 2 but the Super Falcons will kickoff the tournament against South Africa on July 4th in Rabat and they will also face Botswana and Burundi in Group C.
