The Maiduguri based club making a double celebration out of the year after securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League from the NNL defeated the Umuahia outfit 2-0.
Head coach, Aliyu Zubairu said the youthfulness of his side made the difference for them.
“We have perseverance and resilience to keep going, no matter the situation. I knew they will keep pushing,” he said after the game.
“The age advantage of the team gave us the edge and the trophy.”
With the win at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the Borno Army will go back home with 50 million naira.
