Chelsea of England’s outgoing captain, John Terry and his former colleague at The Blues, Samuel Eto’o Fils have both been confirmed for this month’s testimonial/centenary match for ex-Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo.

The game is scheduled to hold May 27th in Port Harcourt, during which Terry and Eto’o, most decorated African player of all time, along with some other top footballers from Africa and Europe will be honoured.

Yobo met with the Cameroonian superstar at his club in Turkey, Antalyaspor, last weekend and has now confirmed that Eto’o and Terry will be honoured for their contributions to the game.

The highly anticipated match, which is planned to celebrate the retirement of Yobo from the round leather game, is being bankrolled majorly by Rivers State government.

Coordinator of the game, Waidi Akanni, who is also a former Eagles player, said the impending presence of Eto’o and other big players in Port Harcourt is already creating a buzz in The Garden City.

“Our chief host, Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, is very enthusiastic of receiving all the football superstars coming to Port Harcourt.

“He has promised us that everyone coming to the Rivers State capital is going to leave with a lasting memory,” said Akanni.
