Teen ace Elliot joins Reds

Liverpool have continued planning for the future after completing a deal to sign teenage winger Harvey Elliot from Fulham.

The 16-year-old England Under-17 international worked his way through the youth ranks at Craven Cottage and has made three senior appearances for the Londoners, making his debut against Millwall in the Carabao Cup as a 15-year-old last September.

Elliot then played for the relegated Cottagers against Wolves in May to become the Premier League's youngest-ever debutant aged 16 years and 30 days.

Fulham boss Scott Parker has described Elliot as an "unbelievable talent", while he had been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig this summer.

But Liverpool have won the race for his services and Elliot could make his first appearance for the European champions when they face Napoli in a friendly at Murrayfield on Sunday.

He is the second teenager to be signed by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp this summer following last month's arrival of 17-year-old centre-back Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle for an initial fee of £1.3million.

Liverpool are 10/11 to win a major trophy this coming season, while they can be backed at 4/5 not to lift any silverware.
