Nottingham Forest has received a significant boost with the return of forward Taiwo Awoniyi as they prepare to face Sheffield United this Saturday. Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Awoniyi, who has been sidelined due to injury for the past seven Premier League games, is back in contention, according to Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Speaking to reporters, Santo expressed optimism about Awoniyi's return, stating, "He joined the team today, he had good feelings, we still have to wait for tomorrow to see how it goes. And if he feels okay like he felt today, I think he can help definitely with his experience, he’s a goalscorer."
Awoniyi's presence is crucial for Forest, who are currently fighting to avoid relegation.
Despite his injury struggles this season, the Nigerian international has contributed six goals and three assists in 13 starts across all competitions, highlighting his importance to the team's attacking prowess.
