Nigeria Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has regained consciousness after an induced coma, NigeriaSoccernet.com has gathered.
A report from Talksport.com has it that the Nottingham Forest striker woke up on Wednesday.
Awoniyi had undergone urgent surgery following an abdominal injury sustained during Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Leicester City after colliding painfully with a post.
The Nigerian international forward was taken to the hospital on Monday, after the club’s medical staff highlighted the need for urgent treatment.
He was induced afterwards, and it was reported that the procedure was set to be completed on Wednesday.
