Swedish top-flight side Trelleborgs FF sign 19-year-old Nigerian defender Abel Ogwuche from Tripple 44 Academy.

Ogwuche will be at Vångavallen until 2026 after signing a four-year deal with an option of a year extension.

Trelleborgs FF had signed the youngster in March on an initial loan with a purchase option from Tripple 44 Football Academy.

"Abel has shown a rising development curve throughout the year and we have now agreed with his club Tripple 44 on a transfer and then also agreed with Abel on a long-term contract in TFF, says Salif Camara Jönsson, sports director in Trelleborgs FF.

Abel has shown a rising development curve throughout the year and we have now agreed with his club Tripple 44 on a transfer and then also agreed with Abel on a long-term contract in TFF, says Salif Camara Jönsson, sports director in Trelleborgs FF.

"In the player Abel, we get a tall center back with substantial upside in both aerial and duel play. We see a very big potential in him but it is important to remember that he still has things to develop. We have had a good training plan for him this season, just as we will continue to have and we are very happy that he will continue his development in Trelleborgs FF", Salif continued.

While on loan, Ogwuche made seven appearances with three starts and four substitutions during the Suprettan season.

He played in games against Dalkurd, Landscrona, Örgryte, Brage, Orebro, Östersund and Östers IF and featured for the U-19 and U-21.

"I have learned a lot during this year and I feel a great pride to have signed the contract. I am happy that Trelleborg wants to keep me at the club for a long time to come, it shows that they believe in me very much. I enjoy myself incredibly well in both the club and the city, it really is my home now" said the 19-year-old.

The 19-year-old was previously invited to the Golden Eaglets camp. He is eligible for selection in the Flying Eagles team.
