Super Eagles To Pocket $2.4 Million For World Cup Qualification

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have revealed that Super Eagles players will be paid for securing qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.

The federation will pay players and officials a total of $2.4 million as a bonus for qualifying for the prestigious tournament which which will be hosted by Russia.

This was confirmed by the NFF's spokesperson Ademola Olajire when speaking to The Guardian Nigeria.

“The NFF have agreed to give the team $2.4 million out of the $8 million we are expecting from FIFA,” Olajire said.

The federation have also agreed other payments and benefits to the team to avoid a pay row that marred Nigeria’s participation at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Nigeria went on to reach the round of 16 where they were defeated by France, who won 2-0 at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha in Brasília
