Tanzania's position as one of the three hosts of the 2027 AFCON means they already have a place at the tournament, leaving the remaining teams in Group L to battle for the available qualifying spot.
That makes Tuesday's meeting particularly important, as another victory would take either Nigeria or Guinea-Bissau to six points and give them an early advantage in the group.
Eric Chelle's team will travel to Bissau encouraged by their comeback victory over Madagascar, although the performance also exposed areas that require improvement.
Madagascar went ahead through Couterier in the 16th minute before George Ilenikhena marked his Super Eagles debut with an equaliser in first-half stoppage time.
Moses Usor, also making his first appearance for Nigeria, completed the turnaround after the interval to secure all three points for the Super Eagles.

Chelle will therefore demand greater efficiency from his attack against a Guinea-Bissau side that showed its quality by defeating Tanzania on the road.
The absence of Victor Osimhen means Nigeria will again have to rely on the other attacking options available to the coach. Ilenikhena and Usor both strengthened their claims with their performances in Uyo, while Moses Simon also provides another experienced option.

The Djurtus famously defeated Nigeria in Abuja in 2023 and will now have the advantage of playing in front of their home supporters as they seek another important result against the three-time African champions.
