The Super Eagles have returned to Uyo, Nigeria, after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Lesotho in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The team, led by coach Eric Chelle, left Polokwane, South Africa, on a chartered flight on Saturday morning, bound for Uyo.
The win has kept Nigeria's World Cup hopes alive, but they will need a significant victory over Benin Republic in their final qualifying game to stand any chance of qualifying for the tournament.
The match against Benin Republic is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Super Eagles currently sit third in Group C, trailing leaders Benin Republic by three points.
Nigeria's fate is now in their own hands, and a win against Benin Republic, combined with favorable results from other matches, could see them qualify for the World Cup.
