Super Eagles plummet eight places in latest FIFA rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have suffered a significant drop in the latest FIFA men's rankings, sliding eight places to 44th position, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The three-time African champions, who were previously ranked 36th, have also fallen to fifth place in the African rankings.

The decline comes after a disappointing month for the Super Eagles, who drew one and lost one of their two outings in November.

After playing a 1-1 draw against Benin Republic in Cote d'ivoire, the thre time African Champions celebrated their Africa Cup of Nations' qualification with a 2-1 loss to the Amavubi of Rwanda.

According to the latest rankings released by FIFA on Thursday, Morocco maintained their top spot in Africa, followed by Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt in second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.

The Super Eagles is likely not to end the year better than things are, as the November international break draw the end to any international window for the senior national teams.
