The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has argued that the Super Eagles team B and its technical crew have no reason to fail in marching the expectations of Nigerians in the Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) having provided almost all the administrative and logistic requirements.
Speaking to SportingSun on telephone in Abuja, the General Secretary of the football federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, however, noted that though the federation won’t set any target for the team, the players and technical should be aware of the expectations of Nigerians.
The chief scribe further maintained that as part of the measures to facilitate the team lifting the tournament trophy, the federation ensured long local and international camping and quality friendly matches for the team to put them in match tune and acclimatize with the venue of the tournament.
Asked the possibility of the team marching the expectations of Nigerians, Sanusi replied: “The most important thing is that this board has always tried to do the needful. That was why after camping them here in Nigeria, we had to send them to South Africa for further camping and acclimati- zation since the country has similar weather condition with the venue of the tournament.
“We did not stop there but also lined up pre-tournament international friendly matches for the team to put them in the match mood for the tournament. We have no iota of doubt that the team will do well.
“We have provided all the enabling environment to help the team do well and having provided all the necessary administrative and logistic requirements, we are very sure that the team has no reason to fail.”
