Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, emphasized the team's need for positive outcomes at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Addressing queries about outstanding payments from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at a pre-match press conference, the 63 year-old asserted that financial matters were secondary to achieving success on the field.
“Money and bonuses should be the last discussion, we need good results first. We all need money, but money is the last discussion,” Peseiro said.
“I don’t discuss my salary and bonuses with the media.”
Peseiro's comments come as the Super Eagles prepare for a crucial AFCON encounter with Equatorial Guinea following a recent loss in a friendly match against Guinea.
