The home-based Super Eagles' preparations for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations have hit a snag following a series of withdrawals and injuries involving several invited players, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

Five players have been deemed ineligible to participate in the competition after joining clubs outside the country, as the CHAN is reserved for players playing their trade in domestic leagues.

The players according to the team's media officer, Promise Efoghe are Abubakar Sadiq - Plateau United, Philip Adejo- Abia warriors, Saviour Isaac - Rangers, Papa Daniels Mustapha - Niger Tornadoes and Waliu Ojetoye - Ikorodu city

Ifeanyi Onyebuchi of Rangers is injured and will not report to camp, while goalkeeper Ifeanyi Harcourt of Sporting Lagos will be busy with the under-20 team.

Despite these setbacks, the Super Eagles are pressing on with their preparations, with 28 players currently training under head coach Eric Chelle in Ikenne.
