The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hero bagged the first red card of the season in the home defeat. Hasan Hatipoglu scored first for Boluspor in the 27th minute; Tevfik Kose increased the tally by scoring a brace in the 40th and 83rd minutes respectively. Sadik Ciftpinar reduced the score-line for Malatyaspor in the 89th minute, as the game ended 3-1 at full time.
