Sule Rafiat resumes goal-scoring duty for Lumezanne FC

At a time when Nigeria's women's national team is lacking a proven goal-scorer, sharp and energetic Nigeria forward, Sule Rafiat has continued to excel in Italy, banging in goals for her club Lumezanne FC as they defeated Hellas Verona Ladies 3-1 in a pre-season friendly game played on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

Recorded 23 goals scored in league and cup games for Lumezanne as they lifted the Italia Serie C league and Serie C Copa Italia last season, Rafiat left off from where she ended the season as she propelled her club to a 3-1 victory over the Hellas Ladies as they intensify preparations for life in the Serie B.

Rafiat who has been preparing for the new season since the end of the last scored one of the goals in the confidence-boosting pre-season encounter with Hellas Verona.

Rafiat in her last two seasons have scored over 40 goals, some of which propelled Lumezanne FC to Serie B promotion and League Cup triumph last season.

After representing Nigeria at the U-17 level, Rafiat still await her recall to the Super Falcons squad where she has 3 goals to her name in 5 appearances.
