Heart of Lions are in DEEP trouble after the Ghana FA ordered the immediate closure of the Kpando Park after crowd trouble marred their Premier League game against Bechem United.
The decision was reached by the powerful Executive Committee of the Ghana FA on Tuesday.
Angry fans attacked match officials which led to injuries to assistant referee James Osarfo.
This decision was therefore taken in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations which states that “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed,” part of a statement read on the Ghana FA official website
“The Premier League Board will therefore determine the venue for the Club’s subsequent matches in accordance with the provisions of Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations.
“Meanwhile, the Disciplinary Committee has been charged to hear the case in accordance with the Regulations of the Association.”
The latest decision means Lions home game against Berekum Chelsea will take place at a neutral venue.
