Steve Bruce States Why He Left Newly Promoted Hull City and How Villa Is His Biggest Challenge Yet

"?Steve Bruce has finally opened up on his controversial exit from Hull City three weeks before their Premier League bow, and has suggested that getting Aston Villa back into the top flight is his biggest challenge yet.


The 56-year-old had led the Tigers to a playoff victory at Wembley, but just weeks later on July 23rd, the former Manchester United defender left his position and the club were without a manager going into their second promotion to the top flight in as many years.

And according to the "?Mirror, the ex-Wigan and Birmingham boss explained that he couldn't work with Ehab, son of the club's owner Assem Allam, and it had been one argument too many for the now Villa coach.


"It's fair to say we didn't see eye to eye and it couldn't go on, we had to split up,"? said Bruce.


"We were spending all our energy fighting each other. The owner got sick and his son wanted to run the show differently to me.


"OK, it was his club and his prerogative to do it his way. But it wasn't the way I wanted.


"I'd had the say on ­everything, but that wasn't going to happen any more."

Speaking of the challenge that lays ahead at Villa Park, Bruce feels this is his biggest challenge, and aims to get the club back to the top flight.


"My first thought was this is the biggest club I've had the chance to manage," continued Bruce.


"I'm confident we can put the club back where it should be "? the last four times I've been in the Championship, I've got back in the Premier League.


"It's the biggest challenge of my career, but I've waited 20 years for something like this. I just hope I don't f**k it up!"?
