"This is probably, arguably the biggest challenge and biggest club I've waited for for 20 years in management."

The team have enjoyed a quick turnaround under the former Manchester United defender, winning two games, and drawing one, including a first away win since August 2015, beating Reading 2-1.

24 - Aston Villa's 2-1 win at Reading has ended a run of 24 league games (D6 L18) without an away win. Relief.

Despite making a number of big signings in the summer, Aston Villa had endured a tough time under former manager Roberto Di Matteo, which saw them slip down the league, despite being named favourites for promotion at the start of the season.

Bruce had recently enjoyed promotion with Hull, before leaving in the summer. He will now be hoping to climb the Championship table, taking them back to the Premier League once again.

As well as winning promotion twice with Hull, he also won promotion with Villa's rivals, Birmingham.

Speaking of the rivalry, Aston Villa fans will hope their form continues, as they face rivals Birmingham on Sunday at St. Andrew's.
