Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi has beseeched Nigerians to keep faith with the team ahead of their clash against the Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire after their slow start to the African Cup of Nations, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Ajayi spoke on the back drop of the 3-time African champions 1-1 draw against the Thundes of Equatorial Guinea in their first match of the tournament on Sunday.
The WestBrom defender asked fans while speaking with Brila FM to keep faith with the team and do not give up as they are fired up to go all the way.
"I would just say stay with us, don't give up, because we certainly will be fighting all the way to the end, we'll give everything we have.
"We're extremely motivated, extremely hungry to succeed, we'll be giving our absolute everything, and we just ask for your prayers and support," Ajayi said.
The Super Eagles have the next game against host nation, Cote D'Ivoire to get their campaign on track when they play at the Alassane Quattara Stadium, Abidjan on Thursday at 6pm Nigeria time.
