Spain: Rinsola Babajide's goal not enough as Barcelona thrash Tenerife

Published on: 25 November 2024

Rinsola Babajide recorded her name on the score sheet for the third time this season for UDCA Tenerife but Barcelona bounced back to win big in their Liga F fixture on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Falcons forward opened the score for Tenerife, but it could not stop a 5-1 thrashing from champions Barcelona at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

A cross from Mari Jose from the right flank was hit beyond the goalkeeper by Babajide in the third minute of the game.

However, the league giants started a comeback through Irene Paredes on 38 and Ewa Pajor put them in the lead on 40 minutes before Graham from the spot gave Barce a 2-goal margin lead in the first half.

Claudia Pina made it 4-1 on 61 minutes before Esmee Brugts rounded off victory on 77 minutes of the game.
