Former Super Eagles star, Omatsone Folarin Aluko has announced his retirement from football at the age of 35, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Aluko had seven caps for Nigeria men's National team, scoring two goals against South Africa in the 2-2 draw in the African Cup of Nations in 2014 after featuring on couple of occasions for the U-20 and U-23.
Aluko until his retirement played for Ipswich Town where he played 50 matches, helping them to secure promotion to the English Premier League next season.
Sone played for Aberdeen, Rangers, Hull City, Fulham and others, gaining promotion to the top flight on multiple occasions, and earning a runners-up medal in the FA Cup.
Speaking at this evening's End of Season Dinner, the forward said: "I couldn't think of a better place to end my career.
"From top to bottom the Club is amazing, and it has been a privilege to be here. I've not played as much as I would have liked, but this has still been the best year of my career.
"All of the lads, I love every one of you, even you, Harry Clarke."
