Sky Sports Strike Agreement With Twitter to Show Premier League Highlights Next Season

Premier League highlights are coming to social media website Twitter, after an agreement was reached with Sky Sports.


As a result, fans in the UK and Ireland will be able to keep up to date with Premier League action, with Twitter account @SkyFootball posting real-time footage of goals and highlights.

The Sky Sports Football Centre app will feature extended highlights following the end of games, while 3pm Saturday kick-offs will also be exclusively covered for the first time since the '"?Saturday black-out' in the 60's.


Twitter employee Theo Luke was delighted with the agreement, claiming that it would bring action to fans 'in an instant'. 


"We can't think of a better way to continue the momentous summer of sport on Twitter than live Premier League video clips", he said, as quoted in the "?Irish Examiner.

David Gibbs, who is the digital director of Sky Sports and Sky News also admitted his delight at the deal.
