Simone Inzaghi on Juventus shortlist as Luciano Spalletti faces uncertain future

Published on: 21 October 2026

Simone Inzaghi is being considered as one of the leading candidates to become Juventus manager for the 2027-28 season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus’ current results have not satisfied the club’s hierarchy, but the owners and senior management do not currently plan to make a change in the dugout. That position could be reassessed if performances do not improve over the coming months.

Luciano Spalletti remains in charge for now, although Juventus are reported to be considering alternatives if the situation deteriorates. Stefano Pioli and Antonio Conte are among the names being discussed as possible replacements before the end of the season.

The club’s leadership could then take more concrete steps to appoint Inzaghi, who is currently manager of Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

Inzaghi previously coached Inter and Lazio. During his time at Inter, he guided the Milan club to the Italian league title in the 2023-24 season, won the Coppa Italia twice and lifted the Italian Super Cup on three occasions.

Inter also reached the Champions League final twice under Inzaghi.
