União da Madeira defender Abdullahi Shehu is available for selection for tonight’s Group B clash between Nigeria and Colombia in Sao Paulo.
There had been fears that the 23-year-old will miss the game against the South Americans after the number four was substituted in the closing minutes of the tie with Sweden following an injury he picked up.
“Shehu took part in the final training session on Tuesday and is in line to play against Colombia if he is selected by coach Siasia, ” a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
That said, coach Samson Siasia has pronounced that a number of first team players will be rested against Colombia, and it remains to be seen if Shehu will get game time tonight.
The former Kano Pillars star has racked up 178 minutes of game time in the two matches he started at the Olympic Games.
