Playing for Fortuna Dusseldorf since 2018/19 second half, 24-year old Polish international striker Dawid Kownacki, who had a brief (and quite unsuccessful) stint into Sampdoria ranks, from summer 2017 to early 2019, has now allegedly been targeted by Serie A rookie side Empoli.

Currently on a deal with German club until June 2023, Lech Poznan alumni was purchased by Fortuna, from Blucerchiati, on an overall 8 million euros transfer fee. While having been part of Euro 2020 Polish expedition, alongside no less than Robert Lewandowski, and having capped seven times for Poland, scoring one goal therein, Kownacki, as a pro club player, has so far capped 223 times in official games, scoring 46 goals therein.
