First Gameweek of Serie A Italia season 2021-22 is not too good for Juventus who just had a 2-2 draw against Udinese. Massimiliano Allegri talks about the disaster and Cristiano Ronaldo being absent in the first half.
The opening match was really disappointing for the Old Lady after losing the first three points. They should have won, but it turned a comfortable 2-0 half time lead into a dismal 2-2 draw in the end of the duel.
Their first three minutes goal was scored by Dybala who latched onto Rodrigo Bentancur's low cross and put Juve in the lead. 20 minutes later, Juan Cuadrado just had another pass from La Joya and made a second goal for the visitors.
Unfortunately the disaster happened when Wojciech Szczesny ruined everything. The goalkeeper just tackled Tolgay Arslan down, Udinese then was given a cheap penalty. Udinese scored its first goal by Roberto Pereyra.
Szczesny just made another blunder with seven minutes left. Possession of Gerard Deulofeo just put the home team another step to have one point in Serie A 2021-22 opening.
Cristiano Ronaldo only able to join the party in the 60th minute, but alas he cannot help his team. The 36-year-old just made the ball past Marco Silvestri in the injury time, but the VAR disallowed the goal for offside.
After the disappointing result, Allegri expressed his regret by saying: "We had a good game, but that's football. We were in control, but we had to do better in the second half. It will serve as a lesson," as relayed by TuttomercatoWEB.
The Italian maestro added: "Cristiano is fine, I talked to him. I told him to start from the bench, and he made himself available. He came on and did well."
Massimiliano Allegri still denied a rumor Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Juventus. The rumor was still going around when the ex Real Madrid star didn't want to take part against Udinese.
