AC Milan requested that the Italian Football Federation investigate racist slurs made at midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko by Lazio fans over the weekend, according to both the Serie A club and Bakayoko.

Milan said it has "filed a complaint" with the FIGC "so that there is clarification regarding shouts from the away end" after Sunday's 2-0 win against the Roman club at the San Siro, in a short statement posted on the club's social media accounts.

The player also responded to Lazio supporters, saying:

"To some Lazio fans and their racist cries towards to me and my brother Franck Kessie. We are strong and proud of our skin color," said Bakayoko on Instagram.

"I have my all (sic) confidence in our club to identify them."
