Senegal U17 begin their UFOA A U17 tournament campaign against Mauritania on 7 September 2026, with both teams naming their starting line-ups for an important opening-day fixture at Stade Abdoulaye Wade.
The match brings together two sides under pressure to make a fast start to the competition. Senegal’s Lionceaux and Mauritania’s Mourabitounes are both targeting victory, with the chance to move directly to the top of the group providing an added incentive.
Both coaches have selected their strongest available options from the outset for the decisive encounter. Senegal will be led by goalkeeper Assane Sarr, who has been handed the captain’s armband. Sarr’s appointment gives Senegal a goalkeeper as their on-field leader, while Coulibaly will perform the same role for Mauritania. Their responsibilities will be particularly important in a contest both teams approach with the ambition of taking an early advantage in the group.
Senegal’s line-up includes Aliou Dieye, Cheikh Thior, Ibrahima Camara and Ibrahima Gassama, with Mahamet Ba and Maguette Gueye also selected from the start. Souleymane C. Faye, Amsatou Diouf, Abdou Kh. M. Ndour and Cheikh Oumar Sy complete the Senegalese starting XI alongside captain Sarr.
