Borussia Dortmund captain Nico Schlotterbeck said his side had been in complete control until the closing stages of their 2-2 draw with Werder in the fifth round of the Bundesliga.
“We completely controlled the game until the 88th minute,” Schlotterbeck said after Borussia Dortmund were held to a draw despite being on course for victory.
The result denied Borussia Dortmund a fifth win of the season. Bayern can move into first place if they beat Augsburg on Saturday.
Freiburg are also three points behind Borussia Dortmund and will face Schalke.
