Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has confirmed he has retired from the game after over three decades.
In a rare fashion, he announced his decision on Wednesday in statement sent to all media houses in the country.
Appiah is one of the few Ghana players to have played for all national teams.
He skippered Ghana to qualify and play in her maiden FIFA World Cup finals 2006.
