Saudi Arabian giants Al Ittihad are looking at signing Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sky Sports has reported.

German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 released Boateng after a frustrating campaign last season.

He managed only 18 league appearances and was told he had no future at the club before the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has been linked with several clubs including Turkish sides Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

Some Major League Soccer sides have expressed interest in signing him on.

Al Ittihad are closing in on signing compatriot Sulley Muntari, who is available on a free transfer, on a two-year deal.

Both played for Italian giants AC Milan three seasons ago.
