Having not started 15 of AC Milan's last game, amassing a meagre minutes of action in over seven appearances, Samuel Chukwueze who is likely to be on the move in the summer got in the mix of action yesterday as the Serie A outfit pulled a brave comeback win against Bologna, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Super Eagles forward who came on about 25 mins to the end of the game made sure his side sealed the win. The tide definitively turned in AC Milan's favor, culminating in a hard-fought 3-1 victory and the influence of Samuel Chukwueze proved instrumental in securing the late win.
After trailing, Milan had clawed their way back, seizing the momentum when Félix's shot ricocheted perfectly for Pulisic to slot home in the 79th minute, putting them ahead 2-1. A tense moment arrived in the 90th minute as Maignan stood tall to deny Cambiaghi an equalizer.
However, any lingering doubts were emphatically extinguished by a moment of brilliance involving Chukwueze. In the 92nd minute, the Nigerian winger demonstrated his vision and incisive passing, delivering a confident assist that allowed Gimenez to seal the victory, firing home and securing all three points for the Rossoneri.
"I have embraced everyone. He should be given a very positive word, like the others who came in. He hasn't played for a long time and wanted to show the coach that I was wrong not to put him in in that game. It's a good sign to have these doubts in the starting line-up", Conceicao said in his post match pressers.
Chukwueze would be hoping to get involved in Wednesday's cup final.
