Umar Sadiq returned to the scoresheet as his goal helped Valencia CF secure a 1-1 draw against RCD Mallorca in Tuesday’s La Liga encounter, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nigerian striker had gone seven matches without finding the net prior to the trip, but produced a timely response to help his side avoid a third consecutive defeat.
Valencia fell behind early in the second half when Samu Costa gave Mallorca the lead in the 49th minute. However, Sadiq restored parity in the 67th minute, heading into an empty net from close range after a well-worked attacking move.
The goal was Sadiq’s second of the league campaign, with the forward also contributing two assists in 14 appearances for Valencia this season.
The result leaves Valencia in 13th position on the table with 36 points from 32 matches, as they continue their push to finish the season strongly.
