Rwanda's Coach, Torsten Spittler says he is happy despite his team not qualifying for the African Cup of Nations Qualifiers after beating Nigeria on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Spittler spoke after the Amavubi defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in the group D AFCON qualifying series in Uyo.

Although, the result could not qualify Rwanda for the 2025 football showpiece after Benin Republic edge it on head to head rule, Spittler is happy his team finished on a high with a win over West African powerhouse away from home.

"My boys how they played here in Nigeria, I think it was not underserved. We defended well, we also played good football, we created a lot of chances, but sometimes like I said before the match that maybe this is the day our lucky day or more less it is not a lucky it is a happy day because we still did not qualify for the AFCON, but I think not a lot of teams will come here and get three points. For that, I'm very happy and proud of boys”
