Ruben Amorim says Luka Modric understood the decision to replace him at half-time during AC Milan’s 2-2 draw with Lazio and did not view it as a personal matter.
The 41-year-old midfielder was taken off at the interval in the Italian league match. After the game, Amorim said Modric was not suited to the demands of that particular contest.
“Modric understands everything – he did not take it personally,” said the AC Milan manager when asked how the experienced player had reacted to the early substitution.
The match between Lazio and AC Milan ended 2-2.
