Roma defeated Inter 2-0 at home in a Serie A meeting between two of the teams at the top of the Italian league.
Kouadio Kone scored both goals for the hosts before half-time, giving Roma control of the fifth-round match. His second goal was awarded after a video review.
The result came with both sides still unbeaten in the 2026/2027 season. They had each taken maximum points from their opening four matches before meeting in Rome.
Kone’s double put Roma 2-0 ahead at the interval, with Inter unable to find a response before the break.
Cagliari are third in the table after a surprising start to the campaign. Fabio Pisacane’s side have collected 12 points from five matches, including a 1-0 away victory over Udinese earlier in the season.
Inter began the match as the reigning Italian champions. The Milan club reclaimed the Serie A title after a one-year absence.
