Former Newcastle midfielder Rob Lee has strongly criticised Ruud Gullit for his handling of the club during the Dutchman’s spell in charge between 1998 and 1999.
Lee said Gullit took away his number seven shirt before the start of the season and left him out of the team photograph. He also spent several months playing for the reserve team.
Gullit left Newcastle after a poor start to the campaign, having fallen out with all of the club’s leaders. Newcastle collected just one point from their opening five Premier League matches.
