Bernard Ovoke has announced his departure from the Nigeria Professional Football League champions Rivers United.

The forward spent the second part of the season with the 'Pride of Rivers' and he was able to contribute his quota to the team winning the league.

The former Plateau United player further wished the club well as they begin their campaign in the Champions League this week.

"It's a privilege to be clothed in the colours of Rivers United.

"The six months of my stay with this wonderful team weren't regrettable, winning the league is what every player wants and I'm glad to have won it with Rivers.

"My appreciation goes to the management and fans of Rivers United, I thank them for the opportunities and I wish them well in the CAFCL outing", he said.
