Richarlison has agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor over a move from Tottenham, but the Turkish club must still reach an agreement with the Premier League side before the transfer can go ahead.
The 29-year-old Brazil forward is understood to have accepted the prospect of continuing his career in Turkey. According to well-known transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Richarlison has negotiated an agreement that would see him earn three times his current salary at Tottenham.
However, Trabzonspor have yet to meet Tottenham’s valuation of the player. The London club have already rejected two offers from the Turkish side, worth £15m and £20m respectively.
Trabzonspor are expected to return with an improved proposal in the near future as they continue their efforts to complete the deal. Until an agreement is reached between the clubs, Richarlison’s move remains unresolved despite the progress made over his personal terms.
The negotiations therefore have two separate elements. Richarlison has reached an understanding with Trabzonspor over the terms of a potential contract, while Tottenham have so far refused both bids submitted for the forward. The next step will be for the Turkish club to make an offer that satisfies the English club.
Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton in 2022 and remains under contract with the London club until the summer of 2027. That existing agreement means Tottenham are not under immediate pressure to sell the Brazil international, although Trabzonspor’s planned third offer could determine whether the transfer advances.
The forward’s proposed salary in Turkey would represent a substantial increase on his earnings at Tottenham. Romano’s report indicates that the figure would be three times his current wage, a major part of the package agreed between the player and Trabzonspor.
For now, though, the clubs remain apart. Tottenham have turned down offers of £15m and £20m, and Trabzonspor’s intention to improve their proposal is the only development expected in the immediate future. Richarlison’s willingness to join the Turkish club has opened the door to a transfer, but the final decision will depend on whether the two sides can settle the fee.
