The Ghana Football Association might not have to acquire a Ghanaian service passport for Black Stars head coach Avram Grant because he is close to securing a Polish passport, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The Ghanaian football authorities are working to ensure all travelling difficulties are eased to ensure the Israel gaffer works with more comfort.

Earlier reports in the Ghana press had claimed the GFA were working around the clock to secure a Ghanaian service passport for the ex-Chelsea manager.

But GHANAsoccernet.com checks have confirmed Grant will be issued a Polish passport in mid-January.

If Grant is given his new Polish passport, there will be no need for the Ghana FA to acquire the Ghanaian service passport for him.

Though Grant indicated that his Nationality won’t affect his work as the Black Stars coach and debunked reports he cannot travel to some countries because of his Israeli Passport.

But Israeli passport holders cannot travel to certain Arab countries and he needs a nationality passport to enable him travel everywhere with the Ghana team.

Grant arrived in Accra earlier this week and has began training with the Black Stars squad ahead of their departure to Spain for intensified training ahead of the 2015 AFCON tournament.
